We used to have a permanent quantative easing. It was like a permanent surge tank of cash...and it worked...but it was gotten rid of, in preperation for joining the euro...which forbids this action as a rule(mind you, since when have rules mattered to them in a crisis). The gold reserves were all sold for £35 quid to a bloke in the pub...say no more !
