  • Taps and dies.

I am short of wheelnuts for my old yank POS
So I am having a toolmaker make a load while he is making some other stuff.
    He hasn't got a 1/2" Whitworth tap.
I would buy one off eblag
BUT English 1/2 Whitworth is 12 tpi. American Whitworth 1/2 is 13.
So if anyone has a 1/2" whitworth tap (13 tpi) they want to sell, i would be grateful.
I also need a Tap and a Die 1/2 Whit again but 20 threads per inch.
    Ta.

Thanks Graham, You more than anyone know what a pain in the arse it is getting bits and pieces for these motors.
Mine seems to have been built using every known thread size on the planet. including metric.
I have to get it running in 3 weeks so everything is a mad rush at the mo.

                Of course...except, it's not in a thread, it's somwhere I use frequently.

It's not. They are different threads. Use the correct one especially on critical components such as wheel nuts or you could be in big trouble.

Nev, you are correct. It's UNC and UNF that I need.
Over here they tend to call any foreign thread Whitworth. A bit like calling any 4x4 a 'Jeep'.
It has rubbed off on me a bit.
