      I bolted the middle support first, as close to the side window rubber as possible, then bolted the other two supports in-line with that. I have a sunroof, so the rails had to be as near to the edge of the roof as possible.

      I also made some cross bars to clamp onto the rails from an old aluminium ladder.

        They have taken some abuse since fitting. Alot of the build materials for the lounge went on them, to the point that one load of timber actually bowed the roof bars. The rails however have stayed rock solid.

          Yeah B W, I'd read that on your post in the search function before i did mine.

          The base of my Mitsubishi space star bars is well chunky and had to sit just on the flat of the roof.

          It's well strong, had a 3m Oak worktop on it the other day,must have weighed over 100 kg
