Dunno about American fishcakes, but the Owl Bar Cafe (next to White Sands Missile Range) makes the best chili cheese fries and home made chili steak burgers ever!
Proper long mahogany bar and vinyl topped bar stools too! I'd go back to New Mexico just to have another one of those burgers!
