Get yourselves a front towbar with an American style receiver hitch, and then buy yourself the snowplough attachment ( available from the US.) Complete the job by getting hold of a grit trailer ( like davec170)
Job done and if it does snow, you can be the local hero.

BTW Moray is a lovely part of the world, I was born in Dufftown and spent a big chunk of my life in the Elgin area. I was a regular visitor up there untill my Mum passed away a few months back and will still be an occasional visitor as we still have some friends up there.

Lossiemouth/Hopeman and along the coast. No Snow. 6 miles inland, Elgin with an inch or two. Rothes 10 more miles inland 6 feet of the stuff. I dont suppose its that remarkable but it always seemed weird that a town so near could be buried in the stuff while you just had enough for a wee snowman

I've seen the Green Oval gang use Unimog portal axels on their buckets. They use a slightly smaller model though! They weigh about 1/2 tonne each on this one - they may effect the Surf's road manners.

Got something that's better than my Surf when the going gets tough....










Built for the Malaysian Army, but never delivered (not sure why). Loads of extras were specified. It's even got a roof gunner's hatch, complete with .50 Cal ring mount!

Needs a new set of boots, but will still go anywhere. If it can't climb it, it flattens it or pushes it out the way.

Not as civilised as the Surf and it's a bitch to park at Tescos.

Was busy typing other reply! He's actually right on the A941 so his road gets ploughed regularly. But thanks!!

Well it was quite bad last winter by him, even with the ploughs.



Keep me in mind, just in case!

Loved last year. Lost count of people/cars I dragged back to the road. The look of disbelief when they try to give you money - and you say "No Ta, stop for me, if you see me in an hedge"!

That's the main reason I've fitted a winch for this winter: some of them had gone so far off road it was hard to recover them!

Small world! He's actually on the A941 between Craigellachie and Dufftown. Was up there in August in the Surf! Lovely part of the country, fantastic empty roads!
