they made a book out of his flesh! and hung his skeleton up by the neck with some rope.

I could understand if he was a mass murderer and rapist, but he threw a stone at the woman. Admittedly he killed her but it could be argued especially in todays times that he did not mean to kill her.

    How times have changed.

I'll agree that it's sick by todays standards BUT since it happened nearly 190 years ago todays standards don't really apply !

it was normal back then the fekin sickos
i read a lot about local history the one thing i find is the lack of human feeling towards human life
the baby farming that went off in rotherham seems to stop around the same time that the feoffees handed over there powers to the parish counsel soon to become shortly after the police

i cant find that many references to the baby farm in rotherham but it seems to have been located in a work house owned by a local rich family from rotherham the same family that founded the feoffees
it was were the rich payed to bab a girl and take the baby
so if not ending up in a workhouse on pennyless lane if you was young and had looks you were raped and the baby stolen from you and some of these girls spent years in the work house before they were killed or just droped dead this went on way in to the 1800's

there was not mush human understanding back then there were ruff times

thats harsh. But it does illustrate what humans are capable of if society allows.

The term Foreword in a book comes from the fact that comments about a volume were writen on the inside cover, which was traditionally made of foreskin. Fact.

If you say "Fact" after a statement on the interweb, it automatically becomes true.

                        Fact!

Dave, thanks for that interesting piece of information. I've always wondered what it meant!!

Ballcocks - a word sometimes used instead of the more offensive "b*ll*cks" to indicate that a statement made by another person is entirely incorrect !
