I dont think led's are ever going to be brighter than say a 21w filiment bulb, there ok for side/ tail lights, markers etc,

You'd be surprised Ian. Most of the new military vehicles coming through our place these days use LEDs for everything apart from high beam.

I have a Hope 'Vision' cycle lamp. Uses a single LED and produces 240 lumens. Its like a bl00dy car headlamp but only an inch across! Pricey though. £70.

Does that mean that the heater control mod is now going to have a high beam/dip option?

Most of our buses we build are LED lights, with high power halogen headlamps.

I like the sidelights, always hated that "Yeh I'm a bulb but I can't be arsed to really look as though I'm trying much and have decided to be a bit yellow" look.
