Sometimes you've got to pay for what exactly you want, its you want it, its worth it.

96' is first year of 3rd gen, most are cheaper, depends on what else its got on it that you'd only have buy for yourself later.

I guess with the mileage on your 2nd gen you might be a bit but off with higher miles on another truck.
My first Surf had 80k kms on it when i got it and my Rugger had the same. So when i looked at the 3rd gen i had it had 169k kms on it. I was put off,but it was well maintained by previous owner( owned it sice import ). 100 miles aint that much for a diesel and it is a toyota after all

There's one near me with less mileage for about a grand less. It is bog standard though.
