my soarer is a uzz31, if yours has had the air suspension struts replaced it should ride quite hard in sport mode if it is a bit sloppy then the shockers are sh--ged also if it steers itself to a certain extent (tramlines) then either the front lower control arm bushes have gone or the wheels have the wrong offset. I have had the whole of the suspension on my soarer replaced with new parts at a cost of at least £2000.00 + but it drives like a new car now and is most definately the best car i have ever owned. It seems a shame to break yours just for the engine when engines, gearboxes, and the electronics are so easily obtainable as spares.Mind you i suppose if you do break it as time goes by mine will be worth more the less soarers that are over here .

Not when there are scrapyards run by Pikeys, saying that they have a Lexus V8 thats "only done 60,000 miles mate, removed it meself this morning mate, £850"
You can by two complete LS400s for that!
The whole point of buying the complete, running car is to be able to check for any fault codes, and that the transmission changes gear properly and the overall condition to give clues about what sort of life it's had.
You may have spent 2k on new suspension, but it's still only worth that much if and when you come to sell it.

not selling it ,ever, to good a car.you can get them off e-bay for less than £500.00 but to turn it into a good car you need to spend money on it, i presume that is why you changed the surf engine for more power, but will it make your surf woth any more money? hmm. If you know where to go there are some sound breakers that only do jap cars that have them in the whole and take out what you want so you can see what you are getting, also these engines are good for at least 250,000+ miles they are so little stressed, states wise they have them up to 1000 bhp twin turbo'd but with up rated innerds.

Yep I know all this, but i still wouldn't buy one of these engines/transmissions without seeing/driving/hearing/removing it myself.
Re: the power upgrades, thats why I only fit early 1uz motors, they have the thickest/strongest rods, so they'll outlast the rest of the truck.
As for making my surf worth any more? Of course it will, it was an asthmatic 2.4 originally!
