2.4 problem

I have done a search and this is what i think may be the problem.
I sold a 2.4 about 6 weeks ago.The guy has just rung me up and said that the truck loses power and the engine check light comes on.
I changed oil and filters the week he bought the truck but its sounding like the fuel filter is getting blocked up from what i have read on here.The truck doesn't cut out just the revs die back and when he eases off the throttle the revs pic up again.
Does this sound right.I just want to double check before i speak to the guy again

Could be that or the fuel tank vent choked. Tell him to try it with the filler cap off.

The engine check light sounds like a sensor or pump issue to me......could be wrong though.

The check light will come on if the filter chokes or there is a fuel delivery issue (like frozen SVO)...

It's a 2.4, tell him thats normal!
