    Most 'pickle fork' splitters you get from car shop don't fit round the ball joint, you need a bit more of an industrial one.

    I have a scissor type one that I actually got from halfrauds that has never let me down.

    Andys way will work to, and far cheaper..

      Yay! Finally managed to free the little blighter, after giving it a beating it still refused to budge so I used two pickle fork things, one on top of the other and it finally gave out , woo!
      On the negative side though one of the pistons has seized in the offside caliper. I'm looking to see if there's anywhere local that can refurb calipers, if not I think it's going to have to be SORN'd until I get a new job.

        Buy some parafin from the petrol station and soak it in that. Then, get the piston moving, refit, re-MOT and do a proper job later in the year.

        OR

        Do all of the above and buy a caliper repair kit, it's an easy enough job.
