Thought its about time I introduced myself on here.
Been lurking for week or so, reading up on what to look out for etc.

So on sunday I picked up my first Surf (not from Fisher-Price!).

Previously had a Freelander, but got sick of changing head gaskets.....;-)
And needed something a little bigger for our huskies to fit in.

Its a green '91 SSR-X with winter pack, 120k (miles). For V cheap!!!
Mechanically seems pretty good, with new turbo, head, rad, etc, all in last year or so.
However bodywork needs a little TLC.

So thats it for now, but have a few questions brewing, as not got hold of a workshop manual yet........

Ha ha, yesss, well, i am aware, but hoping the receipt of nearly £700 for new head and associated work last year means i don't need to do this as often!!
The sh1telander got through 3 in 12000 miles/6 months.

As for pics, i'll post some up soon so you get the before/after effect. Have already spoken to Terry @ Jap4x4spares (Is that Lord Lucan?) to source some parts come payday.
