Cheers mate. I'll have replaced almost everything else in the ignition circuit, be as well doing them too.

I bought an AFM for someone, took mine out to test the new one before I sent it out; it worked fine so I re-fitted mine, which didn't work any more! Feckin tetchy engines these...

99% of them haven't been disturbed since they left the factory in the early '90s, even the sparkplugs and ATF are still the original items.
As soon as something is unplugged, it does tend to snowball though.

I've noticed that in most of the build threads, that's why I'm going to replace as much as I can whilst I still have a working Lexus. In theory, it should be easier when I transplant it. I stress the 'in theory' bit!

Its for the that broken one...funnily enough !
im getting fuel to the engine, theres electric in all the right spots...as a precaution, im going to ground EVERYTHING.
You wanna make sure there isn't too much electric where there shouldn't be much. Electric leakage is a big problem with the V8. Once it gets out its hard to get it back to where it should be and it gets all over the place. Pretty hard to wipe up too. I've got a bottle of cleaner if you get the electric on your drive. Let me know if you need it.

Wish I had a bit more space. I'd be happy to offer an 'eeeeleccy fixation service' for these things. Bein a specialist an all that. I doubt there's much they have that would scare me too much - and I dont see why a welshman should have all the fun!

The actual loom you end up with, isn't that complicated andy. The ignition components are reasonably generic. The coil on plug is fed by an amplified signal (the igniters). There appears to be a few applications you can mix and match. One appears to be the same year mr2 igniters are compatible.

And don't let any smoke escape from the ECU, it's a fecker to get it back in!

Ahhh Vince, I know where you're going wrong. You need to tune for MINIMUM smoke, not maximum as we normally do. Tut! Sorry, should have spotted that earlier.

If in doubt, wrap the entire engine bay in tin foil.
