  • Strangest Looking Surf I've Seen!

    Here.

Best part of it is they say at the end of the ad that they are Surf specialists!

To be fair this guy does sell a lot of Surfs, and also some other things that he picks up in PXs etc. Quite often the vehicles (usually Surfs) don't correspond with the ad titles, because instead of putting up a new ad each time he gets something new in, he just amends his old ads (presumably it's cheaper that way).

At the end of the day it is false advertising whether or not he sells a load of vehicles. He has put up a picture of a vehicle in which he is advertising for sale and its not the vehicle.Someone could spen alot of money traveling to go see it and to find its not the vehicle thats being sold.
Sorry but i can't stand people on auto trader or ebay that can't be bothered to put the right information on the ads on ebay and especially pictures of a vehicle thats not even for sale

Also if he sells plenty of motors then it wont break the bank to spend a couple of ££'s on the correct pictures

That actually makes it worse, in my eyes. They are 'Specialist' sellers in a 'Specialist' medium, but can't be arsed to get their adverts right. If their cars are as shabby as their attitudes, god help anyone who buys from them. E-mail sent BTW.

Cmon chaps lets work up some real indignation here, maybe a letter to the telegraph or your MP, or his MP, adverising standards, the Sun, the BBC. Im sure we can get much more indignant than this, over something so important.

It's a Surf forum, about Surfs, by Surf owners, unusually for this place, this is a good, relevant and funny topic! I'd say you don't get that more in perspective than that?

Its not really false advertising, it's a mistake thats all. No one will buy that truck underfalse pretences unless you live in a box and never look, test drive or research any other 'Surf', which is pretty unlikely.

                            Right, where to start...

                            Erm,
I've met David. He had 3 surfs available when I went to look at the "lovely looking Jeep" he had for sale on Autotrader.

He does not hide the fact that he copies and pastes the ads as he gets through so many.... just a hiccough in the text I would imagine.

Before I bought mine, he talked me through all the faults they have and explained how and where to get parts etc etc... in fact took a great deal of time to "sell" me not only the vehicle but the support network aswell...

IMHO there are a lot worse people to buy from, at least he knows his stuff, even if his ads are a little erm repetitive. However I will give him credit fro deleting the "AC Ice Cold" bit from mine, as its F*cked.

But he didn't tell me my head would fail 500 miles later...

Slightly overpriced but he does get hold of some good examples.
