i take it the ones from milners dont have that solenoid on top to controll the hard/soft setup. can the soleniod be taken off and put back on to a new standard shock? or are they a sealed unit?
sounds like the ones from toyota already have it fitted for that price, because thats too much for my budget at the moment.

Yes, they are not adjustable.

No, it can't be retro-fitted.

Buy good Secondhand if you're on a budget, they'll be better than you have? And buy a secondhand pair, not one damper.

you can get replacement shockers from toyota for about £250.00 a pair and still retain the ability to adjust the shocker. just had mine done.

well for now i have resorted to walking to work and back, luckily its not far. just waiting for funds before i can purchase a new one. think i have made my choise for new shocks too, the desert fox ones from rough trax will be on order when they get them back in stock arggggghhhhhhh. lol

I've gotta say, that at some point not all of us have the time/money to make a repair right away. Is it right? No, but it's the only way sometimes. Even as a technician by trade I catch my self doing it sometimes.

I'm sure he's modified his driving style to accommodate the sloppier handling, and getting the new shock is clearly on his priority list if he's posting on here.

thanks for the reply guys. will look into it. im gonna have to change them soon, as the handling is very interesting now with only 3 working shocks. i see rough trax do a good selection. wish me luck

if i remember rightly the es3000's are about mid range between the hard and soft setting on the standard shocks

I changed mine (as lots of us have) for procomp es9000. not a hard job to do on your own.
I didn't miss the hard / soft settings as i rarely changed between them.
Es9000 are a firm ride whereas the other type (ES3000??) are softer - I forget the exact numbers - but do a search onhere for procomp for more info.
There are of course other makes available - more expensive perhaps - but I have had my procomp set up for 5 years now without concerns.
Before you change them - soak all the mounting bolts with WD40 for a few days - spray every night before bed- prior to changing - to make job a lot easier!!

im wondering what i should do with my suspension now that my rear passenger side shock is well, no longer absorbing any shocks lol.
should i keep the original setup and get replacement oem toyota stuff and keep the Hard/Soft settings, or go for something different. im not looking at doing any suspension lifts or anything big. would just like a bit of feed back thanks anyway.
