Can anyone tell me what this broken thing is? And is the number 221 relevant to it?

Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Don't think it is, it looks like a wee transformer thing. It's got a ferrite core with some wire wound and a ferrite outer.

Is it a buzzer I believe. Or is it a mini speaker?
            Non intercooled nothing.

That is the GX944SE. Introduced by the FBI and DEA in 2004, it was the first miniaturised module to combine both tracking and eavesdropping capability in a single component.
              You're just lucky it's broken...

Its a inductor. And my guess its 220uh, the last digit being the multiplier.

                    The top part is relevant.

                    Regards

Just found this on RS componants ... If the footprint is ok..it should fit

                      It's part of a PCB!

No worries.. RS have a few 220uh inductors on there .. I just picked that one as a example as I have no way of determining the package footprint ( there are lots of different types). All you need to do is measure the pads distance and compare that to the technical spec ( normally in PDF )on the RS website..

                          Hope this helps

Is it the part you have been waiting on for 9 months, that will now allow you to repair my stereo?
