  • Whats missing from the truck?

Spent AGES waxing the Surf. The error was that I think, I put a little too much on. Half of it buffed off nicely, but the other half was caked on!
I think there is something missing / not right with the Surf but I'm not sure quite what it is!
I don't like bull bars but I think it would make it look a little better up front? If I'm going to fit the bars then some Cibie or Hella spots would go on. What do you think?
Bash plate needs sorting, would like a Jaos one, but don't like the price tag.
Would like clear front indicators (I have the sides but not fitting them until I have the fronts). Rear light protectors would be nice too - however I cannot get hold of any of these parts!

I've also liked the sun visors (with lights if poss!) But, cannot get hold of these either!

I've uploaded the photos to facebook, each link below is a link to a photo.
    Cheers!

And me, there's something "chevy blazer" ish about it. an inch lower and it would be hugging them tyres - i assume they are 33's, instead of sitting on top of them. IMHO.
otherwise, agree about the front - get a bonnet height A bar and Cibies, the sun visor and....

              You said:

I measured from the edge of my 16" rim to the arch and I think it's about 18" at the rear and 17" at the front. After my lift I tweaked the torsion bars as one side was 0.5" lower than the other.
I will try and measure again this weekend and post back? This would mean that from the centre of the hub the distance would be around 25" on the front and 26" on the rear, which seams about right but I'm not certain. I have LC coils and BJ spacers though. I would like a few " more lift but thats as far as I can without serious money and work, it it has been enough work this summer!

P.s. I have 30mm spacers on the front and back of my hubs and my wheels are -43 offset. This is fine at the rear but they stick out of the arch a noticeable amount on one side more than the other. If I had an adjustable panhard rod then the body would sit centre and would look better. On the front, the spacers cause the tyres to just touch the front corners of the bumper on lock and the inside of the mud flap. Without the spacers there isnt any touching unless there is a lot of suspension travel.

              And I love you're truck!

I've been looking at getting a chevy blazer. I really like them. Not sure if I could afford both though :/ 5.7 V8 would be nice... and juicy...

However, my friend is picking up another Mustang on monday - fingers crossed. I look forward to seeing that. It's a early 90s (ford escort shape), mildly modified by club member. This will be his second of these.

it does look like the front is a tiny bit higher than the rear from the gap between the top of the tyre, and the wheel arch, easy enough to drop it a few cm's though isn't it? my iold L200 had torsion bar suspension and you could wind the bolt in or out to raise or lower it. it a surf the same?

the more i look at the photos though, the more the height is growing on me i must admit..

looks like you look after the truck too! and those wheels look the nuts!

                  Cheers,

Make your mind up, muddy or clean. There's no fence sitters on here.

Well maybe a couple, but thats a whole different subject.

Excellent choice. Although the '69 Boss with the 429ci is my favorite.

oh i knew that cos i have a 3rd Gen, i just wondered if it was the same bolt adjustment on a 2nd Gen as my old L200.

                            but thanks anyway.
