He is now saying that he is having trouble starting it and the rac have said its the starter motor.I think he is expecting me to repair the truck free of charge again.Yea right. He's had the truck about 8 weeks or so now.He said it took him 12 hours to drive back from Wales last weekend as when he got to 50mph the turbo light went out and engine management light kept coming on.
    He's not a happy chappy.
He bought a good running truck and it was sold as seen.I did the decent thing and replaced the alternator free of charge already. How much more does he expect me to do free for him for gods sake.
I think most people would of told him where to go by now
Did you sell it as a private seller or are you a trader?

Buying a car second hand I expect a few problems so if it fks up once I have it I'll fix it, I'd phone him back and explain the situation, point him in the direction of the starter refurb kit and tell him to get on with it, its no longer your problem. Any other $hit I'd be telling him to get a brand new one from Toyota if he expects a warranty, you've done as good as it gets, your responsibilities ended with the bottom part of the log book and it was sold in good faith, you can't foresee the future. Yeah, you need to diplomatically tell him it was sold as seen and a private sale. Anything that happens after he leaves isn't down to you, help him as much as you want to as a nice guy or an investment in your good name for future business, but you don't HAVE to do anything.

Don't be mean, tell him you will drive up with your tools now and fix it. Ask him if he still likes the colour, if not you could respray it for him while you are there.
Get him to give you the name of a local (good) hotel that you could stay at for the next three months in case anything else should go wrong.
That way you can be nearby.
Or, tell him to F.O. that'd be my choice.
