  • Shift Lock controller...

    Hi

My shift lock controller was burnt out when I brought my Surf....So I thought easy fix....got one from fleabay and plugged it in....but still no joy.

The old was badly burnt out so I was think could this have done more damage? blown a relay or fuse for example....if so what one?

By the way I swapped it all out including the white plastic bit.

    Thanks

    Matt

there is a 4wd ecu/relay behind the panel below the stereo. It might pay to try replacing that to see if the 4wd works

up under the brake pedal is the switch for the brake lights.I am wondering if that switch also does the electrics for the selector lever aswell.
Sorry i was getting mixed up on the levers in the other post

As Chillit says if a brake light is out then you wont be able to move the selector unless you press the red button

Not true I drove mine with both brake lights out (luckily the wife noticed before the police) but I had no problem selecting gears.

                  Well.....it was my bulbs.

Both had blown, both now changed and everything working nicely!

                  Thanks
