My point is that you have a definite issue there..... unless you think that a truck sitting 40mm lower on one side than the other is a 'non issue'. Did you use the same set of springs on the 3.0 ?

IIRC, my observation was explained away on account of me measuring it with a full tank of fuel, possibly on a slight camber and/or with maladjusted/weakened torsion bars. Those were member's comments, not mine.

Fair enough although you did state in that thread that the fuel tank and drivers seat were empty and it's still squint.....

I think you had / have mis-matched springs tbh.

Anyhoo it was meant as a light hearted jibe and not a full on attack, although as usual typing on a forum lacks the subtleties of proper person to person communication, as I'm sure you well know.

Wasn't that only Popeye who was running different shocks to most of us?

I have standard LC springs courtesy of Boyo and mine does sit lower on the drivers side. No spring locaters as we couldn't get them to fit.

Statements like this should be followed by "in my opinion" as there will be many on here who would disagree totally with that statement, you are giving new members an unbalanced veiw.

Sorry, but you are right. Although I never tried the spring without the locator, I remember looking at the size difference and its not just a little bit.

So, in my opinion you would have no noise from spring movement, or worry during off road that the top of the spring would dislocate.

Also bear in mind that some people have fitted standard lc springs and not the hd type as stated by vince in an earlier post.The hd lc springs are much bigger than the standard springs both in diammeter and height.Our lc spring tops do not fit the standard lc coil spring only the hd version.

I ran a surf off and on road for over 2yrs at least 12 hard off road days with HD LC springs and never had issues with dislocation and shock rubbing.

So although the locators sound ideal, if cash is tight, like most things on lift lists, it can be done and work perfectly well without.
