    looks like it sits on top of the oil filter, between it and whatever your filter connects to, i.e. block

                      Will that fit the 3rd gen considering the oil catchment doobreedoo type whatsit thingymebob at the bottom of the filter?????

                        It looks to be about 30mm thick give or take so I would guess you'd need at least another 40mm in order to change the filter - do you have 70mm clearance? I know nothing about 3rd gens 'cos i'm not a hairdresser
