###### Hell! what a thread to make one feel paranoid!
I do such short journeys the engine hardly gets a chance to warm up, so I refuse to look at the cost when I fill up. The best I ever got was 25mpg on a run to London and back. Sadly, Aunt Sally is confined to the driveway at the moment while waiting attention from the mechanic - its throwing/spraying oil all over the place so I cant use it ..... I think its the turbo gasket (if there is such a thing)
Anyway, I was wondering ..... could everyone please send in a picture of their fuel bills so we could have proof that they aren't talking a load of spherical objects

receipts are one thing guaranteed to slow ya down!!!! anyhow i work on £30 diesel per week on average doin the school run and shopping then most of the time the old girl sits on the drive having a bit of tlc on average i get 240km but i had a leak and that dropped drastically i was losing about 40km on average but since i had the leak sorted i'm back to around the 240km mark but it does depend on how ya drive as well i don't have a lead foot anymore so i'm usually hovering about 2000/2500revs which is ok down devon but if you have a lot of hills the economy can drop quite a bit and i suppose anything over about 56mph is gonna make a big difference as well but this is just based on my own truck and no one else's so its open for others to comment on regarding there own vehicleI'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!

Instead of buying lift kits, big tyres, engine modifications and trashing it off-road, maybe buy a piggybank and save up for a tank of fuel every month?“Do or do not... there is no try.”

i bought mine because it was diesel, automatic and i can get in and out easier due to the damage i sustained in an accident which is mainly upper, lower back and legs so its ideal for me but i had a xantia prior to the surf and i was used to 45+mpg so i do watch the economy and think "did i do the right thing" but i like my truck so if i have it i use it if i don't well i have an overdraft
