  • Question for the surf restorers

How do you go about getting insurance for the cars you restore?
I've often considered buying a surf in need of tlc - to restore and sell on - keeping the surf alive for a few more years, but i would need to insure it for theft fire and test drives - and the cost of getting insurance on a second/third/fourth car would make it uneconomical.
I'm unsure of about dealer/trader insurance as i'd only be doing this in my spare time and probably would qualify as a trader.
    Any suggestions?
    Everyone thinks I'm paranoid!!

you will need a part time trade policy as long as you have a main income that isn't vehicle related you won't have a problem, i was working on a farm but i still had a trade policy for part time repairs and trading in cars, for the car repairs and the odd bit of buying and selling i had a policy that indemnified me upto £20,000 basically i was insured on any car or van upto the indemnity and that worked out around £400 tpft and i also had four of my own cars on the policy as well and i could have put the wife on it as well when she had passed her test
I'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!
