father is coming home tomorrow. The mediacal team have told him he can come home but we don't think he should be home. The ward sister thinks he should stay in till monday when he has the biopsy but who are we to argue with the so called know it alls that don't even know whats wrong with him and have seen him for 5 mins today.
The ward sister is going to get the community nurses to come out for the next few days just to check on father.
When i go to collect him tomorrow i will be making it clear that if anything happens over the weekend then the medical team will be held responsible for it.
the ward sister had already arranged for him to be in till Tuesday

Make them keep him in if you're not sure, unfortunately the management of the NHS work on targets, I can't knock the staff on the frontline though, they do a tough job to the best of their ability.

Make sure the community nurses are definitely sorted first. It took ages to get them sorted for my Dad. They are fantastic once the paperworks sorted, though. Good luck.
              it's in me shed, mate.

Been away for a few days and hadn't seen this til just now.

My thoughts are with you Rich & best wishes to your dad too.

In a similar way my son was prematurely discharged from hospital last year (14 months old with previously undiagnosed asthma and was unable to breathe properly without oxygen for a fortnight) purely because they hadn't got enough qualified nurses to staff the ward over the weekend. They had several student nurses in (who did a great job of course) but they didn't have the authority (or experience) to make judgement calls or sign certain bits of the paperwork. No matter how much I asked for the decision to be reconsidered it fell on deaf ears.

Luckily my son didn't deteriorate over the weekend and in the following weeks made a good recovery. I hope they've made the right decision for your father too and that things remain positive for you all.

Got dad hme at tea time today and he is doing fine at the moment.
Everything has all been sorted by the staff at the hospital and they have done a great job this week in getting dad back on his feet again.
I can't believe that monday he was nearly dead and today he is home.
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone and i passed them on to dad and he says to say thankyou to everyone.
He has the biopsy on Monday so hopefully this will help prevent him getting into a coma again

dad went back to hospital today as he is having the Endoscopy and Biopsy done today at long last.
We were dreading today as last week he was meant to have it done and he went into the coma.He should be finished now and in recovery and will be home again in a couple of hours hopefully. We've not heard anything from the hospital yet so everything should of gone ok
