I wore speedo's once. They threw me out of the pool though, I never realised the S had washed off some how.. 
Regarding the other speedo's on the motorway today, I had to keep under the reading to match everyone elses through camers!
If it is out because of the tyre size though, then wouldnt it be exponential as your speed increased? Meaning at say 40 it would be slightly out but at 80 it would be double the amount that the reading is out by. example, at 40 the speed is actually 35 but at 80 the speed is actually 70 and not 75.... or something.
