Well if you think the rad's OK, tell them!

Dont let them just do what they feel like doing. Tell them to get their finger out and do the head, and THATS ALL.

You can save a bit by doing the rad yourself, it's easy to do.

after talking to trading standards with regards to there service, if they find that the rad was not the problem and it still persists by rights i could tell them to put my old rad back on and not pay them for new one because they were not definate that is the cause....so the bloke on the other end of the phone says...could get a bit sticky me thinks

What's to be affraid of, they treated you and your vehicle like sh*t and charged you for it, plus it's documented on here.

Name them to prevent other members from being fleeced!!

Are they 4x4 specific? Or general vehicles?

I know from what you've said that they've messed you around badly, and didn't have much of a clue, but £1500 to fit a new head on top of other bits of work probably isn't too unreasonable at the end of the day. I did the head myself a couple of weeks ago and the kit was £750 from Stevo, I spent near £150 on other bits and pieces, and it took me over 2 full days.

So at the end of the day if you're truck's working well now, happy days (just don't go back there again!)

On the other hand, if the truck's not running well, or that £1500 didn't include the cost of the head, it's a different story altogether...
