As a pro muso, I've been gigging in Cyprus for 6wk, I got back few days ago and having left the old girl stood, expected a lumpy start, but she sprung into life like I'd only been driving her an hr ago! So happy with the Surf, but yesterday I wanted to take some friends off roadin' and she wouldn't engage 4 wheel drive? Obviously can push it through into low box but it won't click into 4 wheel drive?? the light on the dash is not on, and i cant 'get it to'
Has anybody come across this or can you help in any way??
She's booked in for a full service & check at a specialist in 2 wk

Strange one, how far have you driven with the button engaged ? to see if it comes on, other far more clever people will be along shortly ...

no i havent driven with it on, well i did a little at first til i realise it was only rear wheels workin (and without obvious '4wd' on the dash).
I've tried neutral then flicking the button, in gear then flickin the button, it just wont engage, pretty much nothing happens when i press it, really weird cos it was totally fine before i went away...
