help to I.D.dead surf?

found a surf in my local scrapy, the eng. g/box is out, so when i lifted bonnet there was rad with twin electric fans-horizontally mounted with all factory brackets.couldnt trace any pipes cos they,d been chopped but think it might be air-con cooler? its buried under two other cars but its a black ssrx with sun roof &rear wheel carrier. any of you wise old sages outhere any ideas?

sounds like an early 2nd gen my old g reg 2.4 had the aircon unit mounted like that. Later models had the air con rad underslung

i recon that would make a great ATF cooler?

Much too big. The cooler only needs to be a third of the size of that radiator.
If you over cool the ATF, the transmission won't work correctly.
From memory the ATF's normal operating temp is around 220 degrees.
