I think a lot of double cabs are like that, my dads Navara is the same, doesn't stop him trying to convince himself he bought the right vehicle though (until I mentioned the conrod bolt problem lol).

I like them. There is a nice silver lifted one on the way to Guildford that I like a lot! Are the double cab IFS like a 2nd gen?

Depends what you want it for. OK if youre a farmer and need to carry bales of hay and farmery stuff around. OK if its just something to play and pose in and you dont need to carry anything around. OK ifyour name is Billy Joe Jim Bob and youre married to a close relative and want to fit a gun rack.
Not OK if you need to carry around stuff thats nickable. Not OK if you need to carry stuff that doesnt like rain and road muck getting chucked all over it.

Yes but you could have all of the other close relatives sitting in the back with a long rope tied to a matress whilst being pulled along some wet grass at another close relatives wedding:

Well, couldnt find the episode on internet but here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECDhm...eature=related

The episode (I think) is season 1 episode 4 of "My Big Redneck Wedding". I watched it when I was over in Arizona.
                  Was good for a laugh

I like em. Seen one thats been converted to a tray back and looks emense. Not very practical, but what the hell !!

Are most engines 2.4td's in earlier models?? Seen one with a surf 3ltr in it as well.

There are 2.8 n/a's but are South African imports and herder/more expensive to insure.

In all honesty I'd prefer an extracab, but they are hard to find

DC's don't look as nice as a single cab, but very useful, I'd have one.

More useful than a Surf for carting grubby or big stuff around.

97' on are IFS, same as 2nd Gen Surfs on front, leaf springs rear.
