    after spending a few hundred pounds on a new head for the surf i just accuired,ive discovered the surfs been lying around someones garden for the past few years,on initial inspection the bores looked a little corroded,but then a quick bottom end investigation revealed a buggered crank.so.................ive got a turbo intercooled diahatsui engine and manual box lying around the workshop,so guess whats being fitted to the surf starting the wkend.

                      you could put the biggest most powerfull engine in the world in your narrow boat,it still wont make it go any faster,displacement hull,not designed for speed.

                        and so it begins,got the gas axe out at lunch and started cutting out the old engine a gearbox,heathen i hear you cry,on the upside i dont need any of the engine and g/box mounts as they will have to be fabbed from scratch.
