spot light switch problem

hi guys quick question just got around to re-wiring my spots

im using this switch

my problem is it has 4 tabs

neutral x 2
live x 2

where as the old switch had 3 tabs (with 3 cable from engine bay im assuming these are live, trigger and earth how can i tell) my problem is i have managed to get them working (switching the lights on an off with appropriate trigger ie side lights on) but i cant get them to illuminate when in use like the other ones did

any ideas would be greatly appreciated will get some pics posted later

was your old switch illuminated

yes it was but only three pin and was smaller and i got stopped as i had my roof lights on ooops hense the bigger switch
