I know this is petty, but are there any alternatives to them? I don't like their comments on Surfs. I'm particularly miffed at their last statement...

    TOYOTA SURF (2.4 & 3.0 EFI)

We may well divide opinion but not good engines, overheating for fun, underpowered, thirsty.

WE WILL NOT CARRY OUT ANY WORK TO TOYOTA SURFS!!

I've not heard of anyone else and most people seem to receommend him so it may be a case of just putting up with the comments if you need the work done? Not ideal but sometimes necessary.
I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

        Sticks and stones....

I don't care, he obviously don't need the work, and has had some Surfs that have been a PITA and lost money on. (I know cos he's called me in the past about them)

Hard to disagree about the 2.4's Little harsh on the 3.0's though.

Havn't found anyone else as friendly or helpful yet, so no problem with him, more trucks for me to work on.

Might be cos I slagged off his 'snake oil' products.

"Just accept what we tell you, give us ££££ and this little box will make everything fantastic!" Hmmmm... never heard that one before have we?

There's a place by us (doesn't help Andy!) called Malvern Diesel, and from what I've heard from people who've used them, they've never failed to sort out all manner of issues, so they can probably be recommended for Midlanders.

Was this in direct communication with them? e.g email?

I've had two sets of injectors from him now for both 2.4 and 3.0 litre - never any trouble, always prompt with the deposit refund as well.

I think if you don't wish to use Dieselbob then yellow pages might be of use? The local Diesel specialist round where we are (Watson Diesels) didnt have a website until recently, and it's only a one pager! I get the idea that these "specialists" are not so tech aware as they are usually the senior type.

The thing is, you Google "toyota surf injectors" and Dieselbob comes up.

No, it's direct advertising from them.

As I said before, I know it's petty and if they are really the best in the country, I'll use them. I just don't like their attitude towards my Surf.

There are plenty of injection specialists about andy. Just because someone has been used because of his forum persona is irrelevant. Adrian flux are supposed to be a preffered insurer because they advertise...and their prices lately are not far short of highway robbery. Look at lasupertrux. The biggest fail EVER. a 4 year ls400 bodge of epic proportions...but they are britains premier truck builder...according to their web blurb. If dieselbob thinks that the 3.0 litre(ie. Pretty much landcruiser lump) is crap, I wouldn't use him because he spouts shoite. How can you be the best in the country when you don't know what your talking about.

I agree. I was previously of the opinion that if I needed a set of injectors (especially with running on SVO/WVO) I would go straight to DieselBob cos of the recommendations from various people on this forum and elsewhere but with an attitude like that I would definitely look at my options.

I mean, if they take that attitude to one thing publicly what sort of an attitude to things might they have privately? Certainly seems unprofessional to me.

Again, of little help to you Albannach, but I know of a place locally that my dad used on the recommendation of some Royal Mail vehicle engineers from the days when he worked for the post office.

Got to agree with you there, Andy. Hes only about 12 miles from me and I wouldnt use him if hes got such a 5hitty attitude. Hes forgetting the golden rule of being in business. "Never upset your customers, past, present or future.".....Cheers....Mick (P.S. Have a nice holiday.).

I'm surprised Andy didn't jump on this - so I will From what I can see, any idiot with a copy of Dreamweaver can make a website, but its best things like the design of Concorde and the like is left to those not so tech aware senior types.
