  • Cracked head testing fluid!

Could some kind soul tell me if this is what I need to confirm(or not hopefully) if my head is cracked

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ENGINE-CYLINDE.../360271477460?

Do you need a kit? or do I just draw off some coolant and mix in the liquid?

I've become paroniod about this as my engine blows off coolant but not to any particular patten.I am hoping I've got a cooling issue, because other than the coolant loss, she starts, and drives perfectly,no white smoke on start up,nothing!
Half of my problem could be in my head as I owned a 2.4 Hi-ace a few years ago and the head cracked, and more recently my Range Rover shifted a cylinder liner!

Therefore I would be gratefull if somone could point me in the right direction

    Thanks all

you want to buy the kit rather than just the fluid else you can't test it.Remember to have the coolant level down to the filament inside the rad incase it bubbles up into the tube when you come to test

They detect combustion gases in the cooling system. The dual chamber ones are better.

                http://www.uview.com/ProductDetail.p...tNumber=560000

Fill both chambers with fluid, hold over radiator outlet above the coolant level, squeeze and release the bulb to suck gases through the fluid.
