Fault code reader

Have been offered one of these for £10 (the guy doesn't need it anymore, bought some fancy thing with laptop and god knows what), just wondered if it would be any good for my surf??

I have one of those but they will only show up generic fault codes, egr valve, lambda/o2 sensors etc. not dealer specific codes, not bad though and mine was only £25.
Dont know about your surf though, they are usually the 16pin plug for post 2001 cars.

Cheers for that mate . Might have it anyway then for the sake of £10, might come in handy when the missis finally picks up a car, you never know.
