  • This years Northen Road Trip

Na truck so never got away to join the Hebrides leg of the adventure.

However,I am only a day late so took off, great run up to Inverness today where Annie and I spent the afternoon.
Enough city for me so we head for Ullapool and arrived here at 7pm.

We have a beautiful en suite room right on the shore, bedroom window looks right down the water.

Hope to meet the lads when then land here tomorrow off the ferry from Stornaway. Grab some lunch with them then I am then heading back across land to Beauly to a cracking lodge we found for Thursaday night.

Looking like Mallaig and Glennfinian for Fri then on Sat I ma heading for the most westerly mainland point in the UK then a short 4 mile hop to Sana beach one of the best beaches in the world. We plan to rough it in the tent on Sat night as weather is to be great. Better buy loads of wine then

Anyway am off out now for a meal and a beer or 12 I deserve it 225 mile today

Photos will be uploaded when I get back

ps Jess, Zenda your missed I think you two would have loved this one.

When I visited I had the same view. Loch Broom was like a sheet of glass in the morning, gorgeous.

Nah, don't want just any old southerners showing up.

Actually Ullapool is horrible, don't go there, it's crowded, dirty, smelly etc etc...

Well today we headed south a little to see corrieshalloch gorge, then the sun came out so decision time. Head for Gairloch or further North, we turned and headed North. Past Ullapool again and on route to Sutherland. We got side tracked by the lure of a 12 mile single track road heading for Achilibuie and the ferry to the Summer Isle. We found some lovely deserted beaches so spent an hour or two. Back tracking we turned North again and into Sutherland, the furthest north I have been on the west coast. We turned round just short of Scourie, much as I wanted to see Cape Wrath I also wanted to meet the others getting off the 4.30pm ferry from Stornaway to Ullapool.

5pm met Angelo, Jeff and Fraser in Ullapool coffee and the a wee convoy over to Beauly were I am staying the night.
Fraser and Harry are heading for home and should be back by midnight. Angelo and Jeff will be right now tackling the Pass of the Cattle on route to Applecross as they have never been.

I will meet up with them tomorrow in Fort William or Mallaig. Before heading to Sana beach on Sat.

O and my digs tonight have a 10 jet steam shower in the en suite and a swiming pool downstairs, highly reccomend

Just shy of 400 mile covered now and all of it in the sunshine. I have been following it around the country mind with the help of the interweb

Sorry no pics forgot the camera to pc lead will added them when I get home
