    Hi all just got surf bk fron gearbox specialist after a few months of them looking and still no top gear, but motorcycle friends of mine said change the gear box oil and should stop belts from slipping , could this be the case. something about viscocity. she over revs b4 changing up and will not hit top gear( gets worse when engine gearbox warm).

    if im in wrong place appologies


    ps not been on due to wife ill and 5 children to chase after.

    If its not going into overdrive then i reacon its the ecu thats gone.This is the main cause of this problem and i have sold ecu's which have cured the problem.

      lack of O/D is usually ECU or solonoid problem, ECU especially if its shifting strangely in other gears.

      (damn, editing rubbish spelling let Rich sneak in.... )

        Thats great news is there ne 1 in or close to worthing i could change over ecu quick and we can try just to confirm?

          you are going over 60 mph i guess, otherwise it won't engage top gear.just a thought

            I,m pretty sure the ECUs are different BUT if someone says theyr'e the same I can bring my 2.4 over and you can try that!

                  just a thought, was your instruction to the g/box whiz to fix it?, if so and he hasnt...hope you didnt have to pay? surely if he was that much of a whiz he should have been able to tell you that there was a lack of signal?

                    an ecu will be £120 delivered.I am away at the moment but i am collecting another 3.0 on saturday and i will test the ecu to make sure it is working ok

                      sorry tony i just asked them to diagnose but all they wanted to do is change sensors and still gave no idea.

                      thank you storm will check the purse holder the Missus bless her b4 i can commit to buying, so please hold for me will post sometime tommorrow, think she will want to change oil first (
