Calm down dear, it's only a forum.

You do have a right to voice and share your opinion, but others also have the right to tell you that they think your opinion's wrong.

Your post did say 'I await snidey comments' which, to me, suggests that you think anyone disagreeing with you is somehow being unfair or picking on you. That is likely to get the more vocal amongst us to express our disagreement straight away, purely because your definition of it as 'snidey' belittles our own opinions and annoys us.

From my personal point of view, the title 'this one's not too bad' was asking for a reply because, for the reasons I have already stated, that one's a festering heap.

If someone wants a cheap truck to start playing with, I would be looking for a 2.4 auto from a forum member that had known provenance including a new head. By the time someone's shelled out to get a £300 stinker like that sorted, they could have just gone straight for a working one.

You get better value buying a good one than you do buying a knackered one and sorting it out. I should know, I have bought two heaps, spent a fortune getting them straight, then sold them for less than I bought them for.

No-one has a problem with you and, if they do, they will sure as hell let you know all about it, but you need to accept that sometimes people will disagree and sometimes they will be right.

As for changing attitudes towards you, I thought it was pretty poor form to accuse Doc B of being a scammer when he asked for a favour, but plenty of others disagree with me. Maybe people have just stopped being so nice because you're not a newbie anymore and are expected to have got into the swing of things by now.

I only called it "snidey" as i had posted a 1st gen (didnt know that it ha been posted by another member) and i felt that the replys and comments made where sly digs at me. I could be wrong, i could just be taking it to heart, (which i have been known to do in the past), i did also write "lol" which suggested that it was in a not so serious context.

I agree with what you have said about buying a decent motor from a member as a first motor, but for for a breaker or a cheap off road toy i thought it may have some use to some1??

When did I call Doc B a scammer? I wasnt aware that anybody had asked me for a favour. I dont recall calling anybody a scammer, I recall posting a link to an item on ebay which i called "another ebay scam". is this what you are refering to?

You can post what you like, and say what you like, just be prepared to defend what you say. The add is utterly unremarkable, I have no idea why you chose to draw attention to that Surf rather than any of the dozens of other Surfs on the bay. Don't take it too personally, But if you post a link to a crappy ad for a crappy Surf, don't be surprised if some one calls it crappy. Its a reflection on the car, not you.

Your right there are plenty of others out there, but some1 might have been interested in this.
