Apologies for the delayed reply but I've been working away from home last couple of days.

Thanks to all for your help and info.

[wishbone] - Having very limited mechanical experience, the spring balance pics would be great help if possible.

[POPEYE] - 'Angled Grease Nipples'.....brilliant! I'd never given that a thought.

I'll be giving the images a coat of looking at before I go any further with the wheel bearings. The front plate with the six nuts looks a little complicated (cone washers etc) and I'm guessing I'd need replacement gaskets to put everything back together once removed.
