that would be good when is good for you?? i will have a proper look tomorrow evening. i will need to get my tailpipes moved first as they will be in the way.

i just had this response from the seller

"Hi the tow bar did come from one the same as yours, if you look under the back there should be poking down 2 angle brackets about 16" long with bolts through them. You undo the bolt and bolt the tow bar directly back on using the same bolts. I am away tomorror if there is a problem but I will e-mail you Saturday to see if all is well.

      Rob......."

now on mine i have the two brackets (tow eye things) but i dont think they are bolt on jobbies i think they are welded on!

that does look very similar to the 3rd gen towbars. Most 4x4's require you to remove the towing eyes to fit the bar in there place. I'd recomend new bolts though especially if they are on a '92 surf, they will appear welded on! I moonlight as a towbar fitter, good times!!

I was just wondering, and this completely off topic, but what is that motor in your avatar, Essex V6?

good guess! its the 3.0litre variety with standard specs, its in my long term project landrover currently litering my front lawn.... sounds amazing but I havent had in on the road yet to see how it'll got, I've lowered the diff ratio and fitted and overdrive to the gearbox so hopefully she'll shift!!

My tow bar is held by 2 biggish self tapping screws and a few of the bigger black cable ties to make sure it is held on safely.
                Nissan Patrol for on-road, and a Land-Rover 110 shed for off-road :-)
