  • Blown hose...what is it?

    Hi,
My 2.4 surf (1991) has blown a hose, and drained the engine of all its coolant,
Luckily i was only yards from home. Not being mechanically minded, i dont know what hose it is..............its a small length of rubber hose (3"long x 3quarter inch inside diameter) that is situated 6ins, directly under/below the coolant fill pressure cap. It joins onto a 'U' shaped piece of metal pipe. Can somebody please tell me what this short rubber hose is and where i can get a replacement.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Just ask for 19mm heater hose from your nearest motor factors, or maybe even Halfords. It's sold by the foot, about 1.20 per foot.
best get a couple of Jubilee clips too.

That's spooky as that's exactly what happened to mine this week (incidentally also a '91 2.4 and green). Be careful removing it as I managed to jigger the sensor above it.
