Fuel cap release catch pin!! Help!

Can anyone help - I have a Mk2 and was replacing the lower dash today (with one that hasn't been jigsawed by the previous owner. I popped the 'pin' - almost like half a paperclip that goes around the fuel release pull, so to remove it and it flew off into the ether!!!

Now when I pull my fuel release pull, it comes loose!

Would anyone have a spare one they could post me for £5 paypal??

Just find a wee r-clip or suitable split pin to replace the one you lost.

You could temporarily replace it using some stiff wire.
I used the copper earth wire stripped from some 1.5mm twin & earth cable. Just wind it tightly around so it sits in the grove.

I eventually found my clip by the way, it was under the driver's seat.
