No! just two vertical cuts with a thin disk in an
angle grinder about 6" long and fold them out.
becarefull of the 2 rear heater pipes at the bottom.
then lift the wiring harness out of the way from above
to expose the little bugga. here's a piccy for ya.

Sensor connector hooped

Grassman...in searching for a possible repair solution to my problem, I noticed from a picture you had posted that you had the same problem as I have. The connnector to the sensor has one of the wires broken off right at the connector itself. How did you repair this? There is no wire available at the connector to splice in a new piece of wire. Does the connector itself have to be replaced? If so where could I order one from? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mate,

I ordered a sensor from a breaker on here and the connector
came with it, so I just cut the wires and reconnected them,
and presto!! it worked, it was the broken wire not the sensor,
There are some breakers of trucks on here, have a look round
the parts for sale, or try stormfoce he's good.

Thanks for your reply Grassman. We don't have nearly the same amount of these trucks running around the countryside here on the other side of the pond. Therefore...it can be difficult trying to find the parts when needed. I was thinking that that sensor and the associated connector might just be a generic Toyota sensor...and may be able to find one here on a 4Runner or Corolla or something like that.

I don't know about generic, it's possible I suppose.
Why not ask Stormforce on here he might have the
parts you require, Start a new thread with @ Stormy
and ask him, you never know.
