  • New rad

I've got a small leak in my radiator, and although it hardly loses any water, should think about getting a new one. Any recommendations on where to get one?

I think i remember reading that the Roughtrax ones were gash?

And when you see reconditioned rads, then what's actually been done to recondition them? Are they worth bothering with?

    Cheers.

It's the Milners ones that have been reported to fail in the past.

If you can see the leak and it's not very big, just put a blob of solder on it for now.

i used toyota rad wieghs around 20kg more than anyother i have seen cost £325

reconed rads are just cleaned out and resoldered tiz all but if the rads had a good job done then its a good rad depends on who works on the rad

toyota all the way for me cost £100 more than the others but ya will see why when ya pick up the box it comes in

LOL, they are nice, but not worth the money. A 'proper' reconned rad will have core and tanks inspected, then replaced if no good, or rebuild if OK. You can order thicker core or bigger tanks if you get one rebuilt easily.

Milners used to send you a genuine Toy one if they were out of stock of chinese ones, for same price, but you could never tell what you where going to get.

          Do you feel lucky?.......

I think Albernach had a roughtracks one for about £80, I was gonna get it myself but not looking likely funds wise.

My'n had a hairline split on the very top seam, I managed to solder it up, it's been dry as a bone on the outside since... except when I off road it hehe.

                  peace

Has anyone got any experience of a custom built rad from a specialist company? (dread to think how much this would cost!)

Also, are there any "alternative" radiators that anyone has any knowledge of people trying?

Just curious really to see what folks have done...

I know Ali Sport would want something in the region of 250 quid + for a bespoke radiator.
