To the chassis.
You don't drop the tow bar just buy a dropped hitch.

Tony beat me to it, but Im sure Watling will be able to sort you out. I know they do a receiver hitch type bar for the 3rd gen,as I happen to have one, which I bought brand new on Ebay a couple of years back. It had been lying boxed and unused in someones workshop, and I got it for the princely sum of 25 quid. As he says its not EU type approved, but I think, that only matters if its fitted to a vehicle newer than a certain age ( 1998 ????? )

it cost me £200, and that was used, good luck finding one.



They arn't actually EU approved, suppliers have told me they won't actually sell them here, your only hope is to find a used one like mine, or ship one over from the US, but cos of the weight its very expensive.

They are very good, completely out the way when offroading, can slot a recovery hook in it, or get any size drop to ball for big trucks in seconds, without having a permanent anchor stuck there when offroad.

I've wanted one for years.
