Quick question regarding different greases for lubing ball joints/prop shafts etc.
I normally use castrol spheerol mp2 (multi purpose grease with lithium thickeners) to grease all my lube points around the surf.
Having just ordered replacement ball joints / steering idler / track rods I'd like to ask the lube experts a question about the different recommended greases.
The grease i normally use is a high load / low speed / mid temp range lube - which i had considered to be ideal for the surf lube points.
What is the difference between the two recommended geases ( molyb disulphide lithium base and lithium based chassis grease) and would i be causing any premature wear using my own castrol mp2??
I've bought a good quality pnuematic grease gun and get the castrol in cartridges - but if i have to use two types of grease it'll mean buying another gun.
