3rd gen suspension lift options

well, new tyres are on (grabber AT2) 265/70/R16 which look wicked. However, they overfill the arches - though they do NOT rub anywhere...

I was gonna get a suspension lift but Roughtrax are out of extended springs (actually, they only do them as a kit inc new shocks which I will need anyhow).

I had a chat to Barry at RT, and he said hes trying to get a new line of springs from Sweden as the Auzzie Desert Fox ones are getting hard to come by.

Anyhow.... he has no idea of timescale.

as you've all guessed by now I'm sure, ME NOT MR PATIENT .

so, what other options are there for suspension lift on a '96 3rd gen?

TJM, will outlast any procomp or desert Fox stuff, I can supply, but they are about £600 for a 2" lift last time I got any.

i have the tjm ones on mime with a 2" body lift and they are the nuts

That is standard tyre size so would not rub . I got 265/75 x 16 which do rub slightly on bumper extension when on lock . I also looking for a suspension lift with no real success.

Yup, well its 40mm officially. But they call it a 2" lift over here in backwards non-metric land.

Have you tried O.E.C. in Newton Abbott, they are very good and should be able to offer you varrious spring ratings. I had a set of TJM springs and shocks for a 2inch lift which have been on for nearly 3 yrs, seen some serious off road use and as of yet no sag. Had Pro comp on before but rear springs no where near as robust. Also try TBR uk they do Old Man Emu which get great reviews.

not at present - they are out of springs - just got the standard height ones in for 3rd gen (+20% stiffer, but still standard height)

£600 toooooo much for me at the moment, i want a cosmetic lift more than a usefull off road one....

You should be able to get a decent 2" body lift for around £100 or so and with the steps off it looks double that Got mine from Tony N which included the rad brackets as well.
