I think with this type of thing "charity work" people don't want to be presured into giving money, i personally don't give to any charity except cancer reasearch but only because ive lost family members & friends through cancer.
A few people have put things on here in the past regarding charity donations & ive not given to then, not because i don't believe in them as most are genuinely good causes, its because if i gave to every charity i'd be out of pocket.
What shirley is doing is fantastic & i hope she meets her target & raises loads of money but i would'nt pile presure on people to "dig deep" & make them feel awkward when reading this thread. I bet most people want to wish her the best by leaving positive comments but don't want to as they feel they need to give money.
I hope i have'nt steped out of line here, that was'nt my aim as andy "albannach" just kept it breif & left it to members to decide if they wanted to give or not.
Just a shameless way of keeping it in the public domain Mate nothing more nothing less.
I'll tone it down next time
Im not having a go mate its just i know how people tend to stay away from charity threads because they feel obligated to donate even if they just want to wish someone well.
Like i said i don't give to any other other charity except this one & if andy had'nt put this up again this year i probably would'nt have got around to making a donation on the official web site.
Anyway your a yorkshire man, you don't get offended.
