Anyone fitted a CB aerial into the existing motorised radio aerial position??

And if so how did you mount it??

My motorised antenna has snapped and want to replace it with a bendy whip style one as I don't like those short flexy ones. Cant find a direct replacement so going to use a CB one.
Was going to use something like this:

as the dome mount wont sit vertical on the existing aerial mount position.

I recently fitted one of these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165626

in place of the normal motorised aerial. IIRC i did have to use some of the motorised ones plastic angled bits to make it fit nicely but it works a treat.
