If you want to talk to some good people about plants try www.ukaps.org it mainly for planted fish tanks but the are a few guys on there with excellent knowledge about terrestrial plants I remember seeing a good thread about orchids http://www.ukaps.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=9901 you need to be a member to view the forum but its all free so totaly worth a look.

Terrestrial plants? What's the alternative? Extra Terrestrial?

We've been having some success with herbs. The missus is an avid cook so likes to have fresh herbs on hand. We have them all along the kitchen windowsill, and several large tubs in the garden.

On a slightly off the beaten track subject, I've taken to looking for edible stuff growing wild. Round here there's loads of wild garlic (the leaves are really nice), mushrooms, wild damsons etc.

But orchids? 'fraid I dont know anything!

                Still terrestrial by one definition.

My next tank will be planted. All my previous have been unplanted because my main interest was (is) breeding rarer varieties of South American Cichlids.

Im currently keeping 4 multies(shellies) in one tank and red jewels(h. Christatus) in another the jewels have spawned and got about dozen babies left now all around 15mm or so.

Not me, but after reading what you've posted in the past George, I would have thought you were more into weed than flowers.

Mushrooms are exciting to pick and try. Never know whether you're going to end up enjoying the taste, or in hospital.
