If you've only passed your test comparitively recently then you'll find that you're restricted to what you can tow unless you take the towing test. I can't be @rsed to look up the detail cos it doesn't affect me !

And if you can find a manufacturers towing limit for the Surf then you're a bleeding marvel

yea, i was assuming most of you had past the driving test yonks ago.

i have a full category license as I did it in the Army.

as for the surf towing weight...i shall endeavor to find out.

after a few years of driving you start to notice that some people on the roads must have got their license from a cornflake packet!

I got my HGV2 while I was serving (I let it lapse cos I can't see me driving trucks again) but a mate got his after just doing the manoeuvring part of the test - the QTO was late cos he'd overrun in the Sgts Mess at lunch !

I got an assesment date for doing my LGV2-ADR in a couple of weeks time. But i did my test for car before all the laws were change about towing.I think its the best thing they did was to bring in the test for towing going by the way some pratts tow

Sometimes when you have just nicked a trailer or caravan there just isn't the time.
